Aid Stations Shift Duties

Any questions during Wildflower should be directed to your Aid Station Rep, or to the Volunteer Information Booths at either Beach City or the Festival area. Thank you for volunteering with the Aid Stations Team!

What you should know:

  • Do NOT bring: Alcohol to the Aid Stations! It will be confiscated.
  • This is a Family event, and you are a representative of Cal Poly, so please act accordingly.

As an aid station volunteer you will:

  • Pass out water, Gatorade, Power Bars, fruit, Power Gel, and water to athletes (not all items will be at every aid station)
  • Be responsible for your own transportation to your aid station (drivers will receive a special parking pass at the front gate and must park in designated parking areas in order to have access to your aid station.)
  • Most shifts will last over 7 hours, so bring snacks, water, radios, chairs, toilet paper, etc. on you're Aid Station shifts.

Your volunteer duties at aid stations:

  • Volunteer for up to 2 days (if you do not show up for your assigned shift your group will not be paid and may not be permitted to volunteer next year.)
  • Cheer on the athletes
  • Wear your volunteer t-shirt while volunteering.
  • Thoroughly clean your aid station before leaving (check your Red Aid Station Binder for instructions.)
  • You can leave your aid station ONLY when an Aid Station committee member has cleared you to leave. If you leave before being dismissed your club will be penalized.

If you are a rep:

  • You MUST wear your Aid Station Rep T-shirt during your Volunteer shifts.
  • You are responsible for the staffing of your aid station, this means accounting for all volunteers signed up with your group.
  • You will need to arrange for a cell phone to be at each of your clubs aid stations.
  • There will be a mandatory aid station rep contact meeting at the volunteer information tent, located in Beach City (you will receive your binder which contains information specific to your aid station) on: Friday at 5:00pm, Sat. at 6:30am, and Sun. at 7:30am.
  • Any questions during Wildflower can be directed to the Volunteer Information Booths at either Beach City or in the Festival Area.
