Registration Shift Duties
What Registration Does:
PLEASE SHOW UP ON TIME AND READY TO WORK!
- In charge of checking in athletes at Registration tent.
- Matches the name of each athlete to the BIB# on registration sheet.
- Use BIB# to locate registration bag for athlete.
- Verify all information on bag matches the correct participant.
- Wish racers good luck.
- Clean-up and break down registration tent.
Shift Requirements: Everyone must sign up for two shifts (approx. 8 hrs. each). Those who sign up to work Friday will have priority for second shift. No more than one shift per day.
Shift Descriptions:
Athlete Check-in:
- Help set-up anything that hasn't been done yet.
- Ask for athletes name and USAT (USA Triathlon) card. If they do not have a USAT card they need to go to the USAT tent (next to registration) and pay fees.
- Find athletes name on the registration sheet and find the BIB# next to their name.
- Highlight their name and call out BIB# to the runner.
- Take the bag from the runner and verify bag information.
- Give athlete their bag and make sure to:
- Remind them to stop by the chip verification tent to make sure their chip is registered in their name and working correctly.
- Check that they have the correct swim cap.
- Tell athletes to be at starting line half an hour before their wave starts.
Runners:
- Help set-up anything that hasn't been done yet.
- Listen for the BIB# given to you.
- Locate registration bag in race boxes.
- Give registration bag to person checking in athletes.
- Consolidate race boxes when appropriate.
- Be prepared to work in timing or another area if necessary.

- Long Course: Race starts 8:00 AM Saturday
Swim 1.2mi./Bike 56mi./Run 13.1mi.
- Mountain Bike Course: Race starts 9:45AM Saturday
Swim .25mi./Bike 10mi./Run 2mi.
- Olympic Course: Race starts 9:00AM Sunday
Swim .93mi./Bike 24.8mi./Run 6.2mi.
Volunteer Central Meeting Place: Report to the Finish Line Area thirty minutes prior to beginning of shift. Be on time!
Volunteer Check-out Procedures
- Clean campsite and take ALL TRASH to dumpsters located in the Beach City parking lot.
- " Find a committee member to confirm that your campsite is clean.
- " Clean area around and underneath your vehicle (if parked in Beach City)
NOBODY WILL LEAVE BEACH CITY UNTIL HIS/HER CAMPSITE HAS BEEN CLEANED!
