Volunteer Camping and Security Shift Duties

Questions during Wildflower weekend should be directed to the Security Team Leaders. Shift times and schedule questions can be answered at the Volunteer Information Booths at either Beach City or the Festival area.

General Things to Know:

  • This is a family event, and you are a representative of Cal Poly, so please act accordingly.

As a Camping and Security volunteer you will:

  • Volunteer for 2 shifts (Officially minimum of 6 hours each. Actually varies.)
  • If you do not show up for your assigned shift your group will not be paid and may not be permitted to volunteer next year.
  • For your shifts you should bring water, snacks, etc.

Your volunteer duties for Security:

All:

  • Wear your volunteer t-shirt while volunteering.

Beach Hill Checkpoint:

  • Search incoming volunteer cars
  • Same sex pat downs of volunteers when necessary
  • Confiscate any glass, weapons, hard alcohol or any other contraband

Concert Security/Camping Security:

  • Keep people off the stage
  • Crowd Control
  • Make sure fires are under control and in proper enclosures
  • Confiscate all previously mentioned contraband
  • Make sure nothing too stupid happens

Beach City No Entry Crew:

  • Make sure no one comes back into Beach City during the race
